Home learning at this stage in your child's development is really important.  It forms additional opportunities for children to practise the skills they are learning at school and develop them further while they are at home.

In Reception we begin our focus on reading with a daily reading book coming home.  Please ensure you sign and comment on your child's reading record to help us know where your child needs further support.

In addition to reading, we also send home weekly phonics homework.  We follow the Jolly phonics programme and the children love to listen to the songs (which can be found on YouTube) to relate the sounds.  Please take some time to check this out with your child.

The children have a weekly home learning task which is linked to the topic of the week. They also have weekly spellings which are given out from the Spring term.

Please see below examples of weekly home work tasks.
