Southfields Primary School

Miss Tawn

We hope you have all had a wonderful Easter break and had fun with eggs and bunnies.

We would just like to say well done on such a wonderful Spring term. The children are all really beginning to bloom into Year 2 readers, writers and mathematicians!

This term it’s blooming marvellous in our garden. Let’s look at how the plants, fruit and vegetables are growing in our gardens and allotments. What might you find at the top of a beanstalk? What secrets might be in your garden? We will look at the Queen’s garden in Sandringham too.

Together we will explore which foods are healthy and why, where they come from in the world.

We will also be dancing in our May day festival, swimming in our own school pool and competing in athletics activities.

PE will continue to be on a Monday. Please can you ensure your child has an indoor and outdoor PE kit in school on a Monday and we will ensure that they are returned home on a Friday as we hope to get outside as much as possible, weather permitting.

Dojo has been reset to 0 and we can't wait to start biulding up those points again.

Avtivelearn will have the new terms science and mathematics allocated. If your child has finished all their Bugclub book allocations please let us know.

We hope that the children continue to come home and tell you about all of the exciting things we have been learning in year 2.  If you have any worries or concerns then please feel free to speak to one of the adults at the beginning of the day or if necessary telephone the school office to arrange an appointment with one of us.
