Finally the sun is shining, welcome to the Summer Term everyone! We hope you had a relaxing Easter holiday and didn’t eat too much chocolate! We have a busy Summer Term ahead including exciting events such as Arts Week, Sports Day, our trip to the Museum, move up days and the Tri-Golf Tournament at Stanground Academy.
The main topic that we will be covering this term is ‘Our Local Area’, this will involve learning about a variety of things including the history of Peterborough, map reading and plotting co-ordinates, living things and investigating the different habitats that they have.

- P.E. – Athletics and Rounders
- Computing – ‘We are toy designers and software developers’ and ‘We are meteorologists’
Throughout the term in English we will cover a variety of text genres and make writing as cross-curricular as possible to make learning more meaningful for the children. We will continue with our focus on reading, children will be involved in daily guided reading sessions and reading books will be sent home daily to encourage children to continue reading and develop their love for books, can these please be signed by an adult on a daily basis.
Children will be required to bring a named indoor and outdoor PE kit with suitable outdoor shoes and warm clothes, these should be brought in on a Monday and will be sent home on a Friday. PE kit should be Black or Blue shorts/joggers and a white t-shirt. Children will also have the opportunity to swim in the school pool from June onwards. Children will require swimsuits/trunks, a towel and swimming hat. Jewellery must be removed to swim in the pool and more information will be sent home nearer the time to let you know when the Year 4 slots are.
